Feuds between Dejounte Murray and Paolo Banchero

Feuds between Dejounte Murray and Paolo Banchero

August is traditionally the slowest month on the NBA schedule. Fans can only see their favorite players through workout videos and the rare Pro-Am experience.

Basketball fans, on the other hand, witnessed a dramatic series of events unfold in real time last night. Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks and Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic competed in Isaiah Thomas' annual summer hoops tournament, the Zeke-End.

Clips from the exhibition game went viral quickly. Murray faked out Banchero before throwing an alley-oop off the backboard to himself. Murray then said something to Banchero and threw the ball at him as the crowd erupted.

This is where the story becomes both difficult to follow and juicy. Murray shared the highlight video on Instagram. Banchero then re-posted Murray's story to his own Instagram story, but this time he added his own perspective. Murray was chastised by Banchero for unfollowing him on social media and sending double teams at him during the Pro-Am game.

Murray, of course, was going to make sure he had the final say. The veteran accused the rookie of flexing his top draft pick and losing his humility. Murray's full comment can be found in the Bleacher Report tweet below.

To be honest, this is the most significant development in the Hawks-Magic relationship since the 2011 Eastern Conference Playoffs Series. The two Southeast Division rivals will meet four times next season. The exact dates will be revealed next week when the NBA releases the 2022-23 schedule. AllHawks.com will continue to provide breaking news, highlights, and analysis.
