On a trip to the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine this week, Hollywood star Steven Seagal pushed Kremlin propaganda, claiming that a blast last month caused by US-supplied HIMARS rockets killed more than 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war.

The "Under Siege" star, who was granted Russian citizenship in 2016 and backed Vladimir Putin's annexation of Crimea, was spotted in a video visiting Olenivka Prison, the site of the July 29 strike that killed 53 detained POWs and injured at least 75 others.

"This is where HIMARS hit, 50 people were killed, and another 70 were injured," Seagal said in a video posted on Tuesday to the pro-Kremlin Russian news site TVZVEZDA.

"It does look like a rocket." Of course, the burning and other details indicate that it is not a bomb. Not to mention the fact that Russia has a large number of HIMARS artifacts."

The "Above the Law" star was identified in the video as a Special Representative of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Humanitarian Relations between Russia.
