Before starring in her own series on Disney+ next autumn, Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) is making her way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The popular Champion was shown constructing her first supersuit in the first Wakanda Forever teaser, but a recent Funko reveal depicts the figure wearing the MK1 Ironheart armor.

Williams constructs it using the resources she already has, much to Iron Man's Mark I armor, resulting in a less-perfect prototype. The appearance is far more sleek than Iron Man's original armor, and it gives her the ability to fly in addition to having a repulsor gun on her arm. Check it out below for yourself.

"I received a call while I was at home in Delaware asking whether I would be interested in doing this role. The finest call I could have ever gotten was that one "Thorne previously said on getting the part. "In fact, there was a significant pause in the talk because I was so astonished! (laughs). I anticipated them saying something along the lines of, "Oh, we'll send you the sides," or "Get your tape over to us." But none of that existed. The question was simply, "Would you like to do this?" Since there was no audition at all, it was certainly the most unusual experience I've ever had."

The newcomer to Marvel claimed in a separate interview that for her, the plot always came before the characters.

At this point, she continued, "the story is truly what it's all about for me." "Many of us who enter this profession hold that belief. The ability to create stories that have meaning for other people is what draws you in. To sympathize, to empower, or to educate was the school's motto, and I still live by it today. So perhaps the story in which I'm involved is accomplishing that. The heart of it is real people, with real tales and real emotions. Even while it may not be my experience or your experience, it still gives someone the chance to change, to have their thinking enlarged, or to get education in a new way. That, in my opinion, is one of the most exquisite and potent things this form is capable of."
