Analyzing Haaland's debut

The new target man for Man City brought his unique style of center forward play to his new team, and it fit in perfectly during his 40 minutes on the pitch. His explosive runs in behind will be difficult to stop as his teammates become familiar with his runs and develop a rhythm with their timing.

The relationship with Jack Grealish, who provided the goal's assist, already appears to be growing. After a challenging first season with the Citizens, Grealish might perform at his best in a daring attacking tandem with Haaland.

Haaland also commanded Man City's offensive press, which Bayern struggled against, particularly in the first half. Prior to the weather delay in the 13th minute, the Premier League winners were humming as a unit. Given the choppy nature of the rest of the game, including the abbreviated halves, the five-minute halftime break, and the constant stream of substitutes, it proved difficult for Man City to reclaim that momentum.

Manchester City hit the post in the 78th minute! Rico Lewis, who had just entered the game as a substitute, made the attempt.

70th minute: Bayern will use five substitutions to play the final ten minutes, and Man City will substitute Rico Lewis for Josh Wilson-Esbrand.

66th minute: Lambeau Field announces a sellout with 78,128 attendees.

65th minute: Man City substitutions: Cole Palmer will man the right wing in place of Riyad Mahrez, while Kalvin Phillips will replace Bernardo Silva.

After a fantastic De Bruyne single move, Riyad Mahrez attempts a shot in the 59th minute, but Ulreich of Bayern stops him.

53rd minute: Sane, Sabitzer, and Upamecano are replaced by De Ligt, Musiala, and Gravenberch for Bayern.

Kyle Walker took the position of Ruben Dias in the Man City defense.

Sven Ulreich replaces Manuel Neuer in goal for Bayern to begin this shortened half in the 45th minute.

43rd minute: Julian Alvarez, who has replaced Haaland as the center forward in the match, sends a diagonal shot that misses wide right. The Argentine got off to a quick start.

41st minute: And with that, the next 40 minutes had begun. Reminder that there will be two 40-minute halves to the game because of the prior weather delay. On both sides, we have substitutes.

Bayern 0 - Man City 1 at the half.

Manchester City played well in the first half with their new center forward. Their communication and cohesion showed out, especially when contrasted with a Bayern team that is still figuring things out after the transfer of Lewandowski. Bayern created very little and frequently lost the ball to Man City's pressure.

The players will remain on the pitch for the short, five-minute halftime that will be held here.

38th minute: Bayern has a big chance! Serge Gnabry can't reach a ball that Alphonso Davies touches into the centre of the six-yard box. He is still lying on the ground, hopeless. Tonight, Gnabry will fill Lewandowski's place as the center forward.

Haaland has a second chance in the 36th minute! When Jack Grealish re-discovers him, Haaland's initial shot misses the mark. They work well together.

Joshua Kimmich was issued a yellow card in the 35th minute for striking Jack Grealish.

31st minute: Man City has back-to-back corners but fails to score despite their players reaching the balls. The performance by Pep Guardiola's team has been excellent so far.

20th minute: A shot by Bayern! In the Man City half, Marcel Sabitzer intercepts a ball and launches a 25-yard rocket that just misses the goal.

Haaland attempted another risky run in the 16th minute, but Dayot Upamecano applied the slide tackle just as Haaland was about to release a shot. The corner has no effect. Haaland is giving me migraines.

13th minute: Play is back in motion, and Nathan Ake scores from a set piece for Man City.
